ArmInfo.Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan accused Russia of surrendering Karabakh to Azerbaijan.
On June 26, in a conversation with journalists, he said that Russia came to Nagorno-Karabakh, handed it over to Azerbaijan and returned to Russia.
"When Armenia was completely dependent on Russia, didn't we have a war? We did. Let's record that we ended up in a war because of this situation, we tried to bring stability with these changes and are confident that these changes will bring stability," the secretary said Security Council, talking about changing the foreign policy vector.
Grigoryan emphasized that it was Russia that seized Nagorno-Karabakh, without its permission there would have been no war.
Answering the question about the return of Armenian prisoners from Azerbaijan, the Security Council Secretary noted that this problem remains a priority for the Armenian authorities. He noted that the issue of the return of prisoners is constantly discussed with the Azerbaijani side and international partners, and active work is being carried out in this direction. At the same time, Grigoryan believes that it is wrong to connect this issue with the signing of a peace treaty, since the Armenian side believes that the prisoners should be returned as soon as possible. He noted that peace between countries must be comprehensive and the return of prisoners is an integral part of this process.
