Security experts are of the belief that it will take more than the Nigerian military to end the war against Boko Haram that has plagued the country since 2009.
According to Today.ng, the experts agree that while the troops have been able to decimate the insurgents and win back lost Nigerian territories, there’s the need for security forces to fish out the insurgents who may be imbedded in the civil populace.

It was reported that the number of deaths caused by the Islamic terror group in 2014 has surpassed that of ISIS.
The stronghold of the insurgents in Sambisa forest was bombarded by the air force, and hundreds of captives regained their freedom.
The coming on board of the new service chiefs also added bite to the crackdown. The Army chief continues to lead operations against the insurgents; a move which has boosted the morale of the troops.

Thought the minister of defence insists that the end of Boko Haram is near, last month’s attack on the 157 Battalion, which the army downplayed, is reputed to be the worst recently.
The experts also said that it’s one thing to end boko Haram yet another to stem the tide of insurgency in the country.
He said although the Nigerian military was making headway in the fight against Boko Haram, the December deadline needed to be reviewed.
