About the RoleWe’re looking for a senior server developer who will work directly with an award winning game team to transfer game ideas into feature requirements and then developing, implementing, and iterating on those features with minimal supervision. You will “own” your features, fixing and maintaining them as needed. You must be driven, capable, and self-motivated. As a member of the game team, you will have the opportunity to influence game design. You will also have a huge impact on how players communicate and interact with each other.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with other developers, artists, and designers to come up with solutions and implement them.
Provide input on technical design and server architecture for a game server.
Provide input on database design.
Leverage existing technologies and integrate their services and learnings back into the game.
Basic requirements:6 years of professional C++/Java experience
Passion for games
A strong ability to work with others – developers, designers, and artistsAnalytical methodology
Strong self-direction and the ability to work autonomously without much supervision.
Excellent debugging skills
A passion for learning new technologies
A bachelor’s degree in CS or a related field
Bonus requirements:
Experience in JavaScript
Experience in Java Server development
Experience with building social systems
