Sanjay Leela Bhansali made everyone go crazy with his web series. This is the first web series he made and it was full of grandeur. The series had some amazing performances and everyone is showering love on the actors. Jason Shah played the role of the antagonistic British cop Alastair Cartwright. He spoke to NDTV and revealed that working on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi was stressful. He was asked if he was treated equally on set or faced discrimination. He said that the set lacked just simple niceties of human nature. He was not introduced to many on the sets and he felt that was odd and confusing.
However, he thought that since he is the villain he was disconnected from everyone so that he can have the angry emotion. But Jason likes to connect on the sets and that never affects his performances. He felt a bit out of place but he kept going on with the flow.
He further spoke about meeting Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the first time. He said that he was sitting in the director's room and Sanjay Leela Bhansali came and looked at him through a cupboard and just said 'Hi'. He said that the director just wanted to see him if he is right for the character.
Jason added that he never had much interactions with the director. He also said that many times he was the last to do his close up scenes and he was told to complete it within 45 mins. He did a lot of big scenes in short time. He said that he mostly shot with other directors and not with Mr. Bhansali.
He shared, "The most he asked me was, 'Do you think we got this shot?' One time he looked at me and told me, 'You're looking a little fat today'. And I was a little bloated There wasn't a lot that he was putting into my character"
He wished to sit with SLB more and understand things more but there was a lot of stress about completing things on time.
