Evan Williams, one of Twitter Inc.'s cofounders, appears to have given about 1.85 million of his shares in the social media company to a foundation that then sold them, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday. The sale, at an average price of $25.2527 per share, netted about $47 million, and the shares were held by the Sara & Evan Williams Foundation, the filing says. Williams remains Twitter's largest shareholder as he holds a nearly 7% stake worth more than $1 billion, according to FactSet data. He has unloaded shares before, such as in early August and in November 2014.
