ArmInfo.The delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESCS) of Armenia Araksia Svadzhyan, took part in the opening of the pilot project "Promotion of the French language in Armenia" in the French city of Sevres.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, the goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of French language teachers in state educational institutions of Armenia, support the educational policy of the sector in favor of learning the French language, as well as the formation of French language teacher training groups.
During the visit, Svadzhyan discussed the details of cooperation in the field of training French language teachers with Natalia Nikitenko, Director for European and International Relations and Cooperation of the Ministry of National Education and Youth of France.
Araksia Svadzhyan presented reforms in the education sector in Armenia, emphasizing the importance of introducing a new standard of general education. In this context, a number of issues related to the process of creating new textbooks, continuous training of teachers, and the school management system were discussed.
The French side also presented the educational structure of France and the functions of the main units included in the "Promotion of the French Language in Armenia" program. The French partners noted that in the near future a visit of 30 teachers selected under the program will be organized to the French city of Bordeaux, where the next stage of a two-week training will take place.
The Armenian delegation in France also held meetings with a number of organizations, including the leadership of the National Institute of Education in Paris, to discuss opportunities for further cooperation with similar structures operating in Armenia.
The parties emphasized the importance of further strengthening relations between the Republic of Armenia and the French Republic in the field of education and culture.
Araksia Svadzhyan visited AgroParisTech University, where she discussed with the French side the possibilities of implementing a number of programs between the French University of Armenia, the Armenian State Agrarian University and AgroParisTech.
