ArmInfo. The Armenian Apostolic Church has its own characteristics, but the issue of its taxation remains open. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated on May 22 from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
He noted that AAC was previously offered a formula according to which, when taxed, the entire amount would be returned by the state to the church, but this initiative did not receive an appropriate response from the AAC.
"We just want transparency, and as much as the AAC transfers funds to the state, the same amount will be returned, but, apparently, the church does not want to deal with the same transparency," the RA Prime Minister emphasized, pointing out the possibility presence of problems in financial flows. Meanwhile, the RA government is ready to make additional contributions.
