In a recent interview, Aditi revealed why SLB asked her not to eat food before a crucial scene.

In conversation with Rediff, Aditi Rao Hydari talked about her experience of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She shares that contrary to the belief that he is a tough taskmaster, the filmmaker gives a lot of space to his actors. The actress believes SLB wants his actors to find their own magic. Aditi observed that Sanjay is inspired by everything around him, be it human emotions, art, music and dance. Sanjay wants to do better again and again. That is what inspires everyone else around him. She further adds, "He effortlessly manages to push you where you didn't believe you could go. He teaches you without actually sitting down with a danda!"
While talking about the prep and talent while playing Bibbojan, Aditi Rao Hydari talked about being a trained dancer, having grown up listening to stories of artists. Aditi shares Sanjay is very passionate about everything he does. He is also very knowledgeable. The actress adds that once you walk on an SLB set, one has to completely surrender. She says one has to become a sponge. She talks about how he sees every character differently and justifies their emotions. The actress went on to share, "One day, he kept me hungry because I had to do a scene which was full of fire. He said, 'Aaj khana mat khana', and that helped me get that simmering sense of injustice."
