ArmInfo.Children in Tavush have been forced to fight for their safety and the right to live on
the street with their parents for a week now, expert in Azerbaijani studies Angela Elibegova wrote.
"The children of Baganis are forced to go on strike to defend their
rights. 30 thousand children from Artsakh do not even have the
opportunity to do this. The children of thousands of victims of
Azerbaijani aggression have no chance to fight their fathers.
Our focus must be on the fate of hundreds of thousands of children.
Including our children, who have neither personal security, nor
diplomatic passports, nor a financial cushion," the expert wrote.
Today it became known that students from a school in the village of
Baganis, bordering Azerbaijan, staged a strike in the name of the
Motherland, blocking the road from the village.
At these moments, citizens blocked the Yerevan-Gyumri road. Member of
the Hayastan parliamentary faction Mher Melkonyan is also with the
citizens.
The Armenia-Georgia interstate highway continues to remain closed in
the Kirants-Voskepar section.
Residents of the border villages of Tavush have been holding protests
on the Armenia-Georgia interstate road since April 19. They oppose
the border delimitation option agreed upon by Yerevan and Baku, as a
result of which strategic heights will pass to Azerbaijan and
Armenian villages will be completely or partially surrounded.
On April 19, the commissions for demarcation of the border between
Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin demarcation of the border from
the Tavush region. According to them, the description of these
sections of the border line will be drawn up taking into account the
clarification of the coordinates that will be obtained as a result of
geodetic measurements on site. All this will be documented in the
appropriate protocol description, which must be agreed upon and
signed between the parties before May 15 of this year.
