ArmInfo. Residents of four villages of Tavush, which the Prime Minister of Armenia unilaterally decided to transfer to Azerbaijan, spent the night on the Kirants-Voskepar road.
In a conversation with ArmInfo, residents of border villages said that they do not intend to go home and open the road until they receive positive decisions for themselves, namely, a refusal to criminally surrender the country's territories to the enemy.
They also said that Deputy Prime Minister, head of the delimitation commission Mher Grigoryan, abandoned the idea of visiting Tavush and meeting with residents of villages who are at the mercy of the enemy. As the villagers said, today at 18:00 the head of the Kirants community, Karo Saryan, and one representative of the village will go to negotiations in Yerevan.
After people took to the streets to defend their own natural rights, the media and telegram channels affiliated with the authorities began an information attack against these people. The head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Srbazan, was also under attack. In addition, attempts are being made to attribute to Russia the organization of the ongoing protests.
In connection with the persecution of people that began, the Union of Armenians of Russia issued a statement. The UAR statement, in particular, says: "The Union of Armenians of Russia categorically condemns the information persecution organized in Armenia against Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, as well as the forceful methods and intimidation used against residents of Armenian villages who stood up to defend their right to their homeland.
What is happening around four border villages, which the Armenian authorities decided to unconditionally surrender to the enemy, despite the manipulative statements of the Armenian authorities, has nothing to do with the peace agenda.
Contrary to Pashinyan's assurances, the loss of Artsakh did not lead to peace. His desire to please Aliyev in every possible way, devaluing the heroism and memory of those who died for the freedom and independence of our Motherland, did not deter Azerbaijan from further occupying Armenian territories: today the lands of thirty-one settlements in Armenia are under its control. Without trying to resolve this issue, which is fundamental for the preservation of Armenian statehood, the government is making more and more concessions, shifting responsibility for its obviously failed policy pursued since 2018 to anyone other than the main one responsible - the current government. A government that, in violation of the country's Constitution, without a referendum, redraws the borders of its own state in favor of Baku, despite the latter's growing anti-Armenian rhetoric and policies and the fact that Armenian prisoners, including the top leadership of Artsakh, are languishing in Baku dungeons.
All these unilateral concessions, not supported - neither by Baku, nor by third states or international structures - with documentary and legal guarantees of the cessation of further aggression by Baku, will never lead to peace. This is yet another manipulation and deception, followed by new humiliating concessions, losses and a new war. If you don't stop them now, as the residents of Tavush villages are trying to do today."
