Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is in its fourth season of sorts. The fourth generation is taking the story forward. Post Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod, Shehzada Dhami and Samridhii Shukla became the new leads of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. However, the shocker came in when Shehzada Dhami was fired from the show by producer Rajan Shahi. He played the role of Armaan, however, overnight he was replaced by Rohit Purohit. In a recent interview, Rajan Shahi has spoken at length about Shehzada Dhami's ouster from the show.

In an interview with Saas Bahu Aur Saazish, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai producer Rajan Shahi said that Shehzada Dhami's 'problematic behaviour' on the sets of the show lead to his ouster. He revealed that Shehzada misbehaved with a few crew members during the first outdoor shoot schedule. Rajan Shahi questioned Shehzada about his attitude and asked why does he think he is a star? Later, when the promo of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Rajan Shahi got several calls questioning how could he cast someone like Shehzada and that he is going to have a problem in the future. Rajan Shahi revealed that a channel head called him and stated that he has made a mistake with his casting and that he may face problem. Further, Rajan Shahi also added, "I still thought of giving him a chance, But, then I got a call from a production house stating that because of this person they had to face a lot of problems. Then, an assistant of mine who is now a very renowned director told me that I made a huge mistake and how could I sign a person like this."
Post Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Shehzada Dhami hasn't revealed details of his next project as yet. Along with Shehzada, Pratiksha Honmukhe was also removed from the show. She played the role of Ruhi in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Reportedly, she was dating Shehzada Dhami and got influenced by him. It was Pratiksha's debut show. The actress is yet to announce her next project. She got replaced by Garvita Sidhwani.
