Ohio Republican Congressman and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give his take on Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s remarks about the government’s relationship with the First Amendment.
“I was at the oral argument yesterday, the arguments in front of the Supreme Court. I’ve been in Congress 17 years. First time I’ve ever went to arguments. And I heard something that just completely shocked me. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, I’m sitting there and when she said, it was one of those moments where you almost forget that you’re supposed to just say, you know, there’s a decorum you’re supposed to keep in the Supreme Court. Because I wanted to stand up and say, are you crazy? She actually said, councilor, he was a solicitor general for Louisiana. She said, councilor, your position, you have the First Amendment hamstringing the government. And I’m like, that’s the stinking point. But this is where we go with the Left, who doesn’t like America, doesn’t like the Constitution, doesn’t like the First Amendment, thinks the people in government are so much smarter than us hillbillies from, you know, Western Ohio. Like that mindset drives us crazy. And it’s why the intensity of support for President Trump is so strong because they see that mindset, as represented by Ketanji Brown Jackson’s stupid question and point, they see the difference. I mean, the whole point of the First Amendment is to hamstring the government, for goodness sake.”
