Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash told reporters on October 23. The Minister arrived in Armenia to sign an agreement on the construction of the Agarak-Kajaran road as part of the North-South transport corridor.
In this regard, he emphasized that Iran's policy is based on ensuring peace in the region. "We condemn any kind of external interference and believe that the countries of the region can make the best decisions for themselves," he said.
The minister noted that Iran has always contributed to the territorial integrity of Armenia and will continue to do so. Mr. Bazrpash added that the infrastructure that is being established between Armenia and Iran is aimed at ensuring sustainable peace in the region, in particular between neighboring countries.
In this regard, he informed about the interesting infrastructure projects planned in the eastern and western parts of the Caspian Sea, noting that Armenia can also take advantage of the opportunities provided within the framework of these projects.
The Minister also emphasized that Armenia is an important country for Iran, which can play a key role within the North-South corridor.
