ArmInfo.Opening a current account in Armenian banks for citizens forcibly displaced from Artsakh will be free of charge. This was announced by spokesperson of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nazeli Baghdasaryan at a briefing on October 2.
According to Baghdasaryan, the payment of benefits for forcibly displaced persons for urgent needs in the amount of 100 thousand drams will begin this week. Those who already have bank accounts will get aid first. The rest will need to open them as soon as possible and submit data to the Unified Social Service. Banks will open accounts for free.
Thus, according to data at 16:00, the number of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh is 100,520, 21,107 vehicles crossed the Hakari Bridge. "The number has remained almost unchanged since yesterday evening, which means the main flow of citizens has ceased and only officials and a certain number of residents remain in Nagorno-Karabakh," she noted.
More than 89,167 displaced persons have already registered, and 53,935 people used the shelters offered by the state, their distribution according to regions is as follows: Aragatsotn region: 2454people, Ararat region: 13050people, Armavir region: 5186people, Gegharkunik region: 4337people, Lori region: 3263people, Kotayk region - 13297people, Shirak region - 2558 people, Syunik region - 5089people, Vayots Dzor region - 2134 people and Tavush region - 2567 people.
From October 1, 40 thousand drams (about $100) per month per person will be allocated to cover the housing costs of each family forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, and another 10 thousand drams will be allocated to pay for utilities. The program will operate for at least 6 months and will cover all displaced citizens, regardless of age, with the exception of those in special centers and those who have real estate in Armenia. In addition, each forcibly displaced person will be given a one-time payment of 100 thousand drams (about $250).
