Volkswagen has launched the Taigun and Virtus within past of the couple year. The Taigun takes on the compact SUV league whereas the Virtus faces off with mid-size sedans in India. Both gained a good response from the market. Now, Volkswagen has updated the Taigun and Virtus with tweaked powertrains and more features to capture more audience.
The popular cars of Volkswagen have received an immense response from the market. As a result, Volkswagen has updated the Taigun and Virtus with a few additional features to attract more buyers. Now, the Taigun will come with some advanced features like Automatic Headlights and Auto Coming/ Leaving Home lights on the 1.0L TSi Highline variant and the 1.5L TSi GT variant. Meanwhile, the Virtus will get rear fog lights as a standard feature for all of its variants. With the addition of these features, Volkswagen ensures more safety for its users. Apart from this, Volkswagen has tuned the engines to comply with new RDE norms.
Volkswagen has updated its powertrains to comply with the latest BS6 phase-2 emission norms. The new engines will also support E20 fuel. Both the Taigun and Virtus are available in 2 engine options. The base engine is a 1.0L 3-cylinder TSi turbo petrol engine. This engine makes 115ps of power and 178nm of torque. The 1.0L TSi engine is available with either a 6-Speed Manual Transmission or a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission. However, the range-topper is the 1.5L 4-cylinder TSi turbo petrol engine. It churns out a whopping 150ps of power and 250nm of torque. This engine is only available with a 7-Speed DSG Transmission.
