Armenia's domestic trade upped 13.6% in the first eight months of 2022 from the same time span of 2021 to over 2.6 trillion drams (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee reported.
YEREVAN, October 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's domestic trade upped 13.6% in the first eight months of 2022 from the same time span of 2021 to over 2.6 trillion drams (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee reported.
It said in August 2022 alone, the domestic trade was up 20% from August 2021 to over 401.3 billion drams. Compared to July 2022 the domestic trade was down 0.9%.
The retail trade amounted to over one trillion drams or 38.7% of the total. The figure was up 2.3% from the first eight months of 2021.
The wholesale trade grew by 20.6% to about 1.5 trillion drams or 55.5% of the total. Sales of vehicles raised about 99.3 billion drams growing by 49.2%.
Stores accounted for 78.9% of the retail trade or over 796.4 billion drams showing 3.7% y-o-y growth. Consumer goods markets accounted for 4.1% of the total or about 451.7 billion drams having slashed by 16.7%.
Farmer markets accounted for only 1.1% of the total or 10.6 billion drams. Their share dropped by 9.9% from the first eight months of 2021.
Kiosk trade dropped by 10.4% to 1.5% of the total or 14.9 billion drams. Other trade outlets grew by 3.9% to 146 billion drams or 14.4% of the total. ($1 – 406.14 drams) -0-
