Jose Rizal University and Lyceum battle for the remaining semifinal berth Tuesday in NCAA women’s volleyball at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Match is at 2:30 p.m. with both teams seeking to join Arellano and San Sebastian in the stepladder semifinals.
The winner in the crucial tussle would also arrange a semifinal knockout match with San Sebastian.
JRU and Lyceum are coming off from contrasting victories last Friday, with the Lady Bombers sweeping the San Beda Lady Red Spikers, 25-19, 25-16, 25-19, and the Lady Pirates surviving the Lady Stags, 25-27, 25-22, 16-25, 25-18, 15-13.
But both teams are ready to go all out to keep their respective title bids alive.
Bannering JRU would be Dolly Versoza and Renesa Melgar, who combined for 25 points in their 69-minute contest against San Beda.
Lyceum, for its part, is expected to parade Johna Dolorito and Janeth Tulang, who teamed up for 33 points in their five-set victory over San Sebastian.
Toting identical 4-4 cards, a victory for either JRU or Lyceum would actually tie them with Mapua (5-4).
But both teams already have a higher quotient against the Lady Cardinals, making this last eliminations matchup a do-or-die for the Lady Bombers and the Lady Pirates.
