On May 27, Theresa May was due to attend a conference in Edinburgh, organised by a group of young health professionals, to promote the Government’s public health policy and, to mark the 20th anniversary of the Aids Epidemic, to visit an alphabetic hospital.
However, when Theresa May stopped to visit the hospital on the afternoon of May 28 – after an hour-long walk from the office – some staff members and residents told the BBC News website that she had been given a “black eye”.
The allegations were quickly denied by the Prime Minister’s official spokesman, Dominic Grieve.
Mr Grieve said the Prime Minister had “not been to the hospital in a while”, adding that “She has been away from the Conservative Party for many weeks”, and “She’s been very involved in the NHS, not only working on public health issues but also being an MP and a former Cabinet Secretary.

They say she was never told anything by anyone but the Prime Minister and no one told her that the government was considering putting her under the Public Health Act of 2017 to begin with.”
