Weddington beats Eastern Guilford 33-20 for NC 3-AA title
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — David Bayha threw three touchdown passes to help Weddington beat Eastern Guilford 33-20 on Saturday for the Class 3-AA North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.
Bayha was named the game’s most valuable player for the Warriors (13-3), throwing for 183 yards and running for 74 more. It was the program’s first state title and second trip to a championship game.
Denzel Patton and Chase Randolph each ran for scores, with Weddington scoring 26 unanswered points after trailing 14-7 early in the second quarter.
