It might cost more than the average PC, but this Samsung laptop, at its deal price, is actually a pretty good value.
Instead of targeting a specific group and creating a computer that's good at one thing, Samsung's approach here was to make a better-than-average general PC.
People upset with Apple's recent removal of every port under the sun will be happy with this computer. It keeps legacy ports, like regular USB, an SD card slot, HDMI, and even VGA around. It's powerful enough to power two monitors at a time without any dongles.
Its dual-core processor isn't as high-end as others, but is more than enough for your standard, everyday tasks like streaming Netflix or posting on Facebook and Twitter. Its 15.6-inch 1080p display is also comfortably in the perfectly average category.
The standout spec of this machine is its abundance of storage. Samsung has packed both a 128GB SSD (Solid State Drive) and 1TB traditional hard drive here.
I couldn't recommend a non-budget PC that wasn't equipped with an SSD. It's makes such a dramatic difference when doing anything. The terabyte of traditional storage is perfect for storing media, like movies, music, and photos — if you haven't already put those in the cloud.
Don't go into this laptop expecting to be able to do hardcore gaming or 4K video editing. Its internal graphics and modest amount of memory make those types of tasks a no-go.
If you see a computer as an investment, though, and want one that's going to last more than a couple of years for day-to-day use, this is a good buy.
