Detail has emerged that revealed that Sambo Dasuki refused the offer of the federal government to attend the burial of his father, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki who died on Monday, November 14 after a brief illness.

There were initial reports that the former national security adviser who is in detention on misappropriation of $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms was being paid by in his own coin by President Muhammadu Buhari who suffered similar fate when his mother passed away while he was arrested and detained by Dasuki.

NAN reports that Abdulrahman Dambazau who is the minister of interior said Dasuki was offered the chance to visit his sick father who was also the 18^th Sultan but he refused and said he would pray for him.

“A second offer was also made to him Monday night to be taken to Sokoto to lead the mourning for his deceased, and he again turned down the offer.”

Dambazau who was at the burial which took place at the Sultan Bello Mosque said he spoke with the director-general of the Department of State Service, Lawal Daura who visit his family.

“Let me correct the impression that Col Sambo Dasuki was prevented from attending the burial rites of his father. We had discussed with the DG SSS and he was offered the opportunity to visit his late father on his hospital bed in Abuja.

“He declined, saying he preferred to remain where he was and pray for his sick father. He was also offered to be in Sokoto throughout the mourning period and also declined, preferring to pray for him. That was the true situation.”
