If there’s any politician that never gets tired of giving Nigerians a reason to talk, that person is Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state.
Fayose would definitely have the crowd laughing out loud if he was a professional comedian. Many find him entertaining while others are of the opinion that he appeals to only illiterates and semi-literates.
The governor is known for criticizing the policies and programs of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives.
A number of times, Fayose has given Nigerians a reason to talk about his attire. He has his own unique fashion style. He cannot just be bothered with wearing suits and ties.

Below are seven times Fayose made tongues wag because of his attire.
1. Fayose’s attire to the Udiroko festival
On August 23, the Ekiti state governor attended the Udiroko festival dressed in a coffee brown and white buba and wrapper. He completed the look with leopard skinned shoes, red traditional-royal beads and a cap. He sure had heads turning for a second glance.
2. When he decided to dress like an Igbo man
They say, ‘when in rome, do as the romans do’ and that is what Governor Fayose did. During the thanksgiving service organized by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state, the Ekiti state governor rocked Igbo attire.
3. He showed Nigerians he is a true Yoruba man
Fayose attended the coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, in a full Yoruba traditional garment. This was something different from his usual jean and shirt.
4. He wore a T-shirt and jeans to present appropriation bill at the state House of Assembly
This is what he wore to the state House of Assembly to present the 2016 budget totaling N67 billion. The opposition All Progressives Congress faulted the governor for dressing casually instead of the official attire of full native dress or English suit. Trust Fayose not to care.
5. When he wore shorts to sign the Ekiti state 2016 budget and five other bills into law
His critics complained when he wore jeans to the presentation of the 2016 budget. So, this time, he decided to make them really angry by wearing shorts and the critics still attacked him.
In response to his critics, he wrote: “They said I was not properly dressed last week, I am wearing short knickers to sign d budget. They should keep talking.”
6. When he took his casual dressing to another level
Fayose wore a pair of shorts to see a traditional ruler in his state, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital. As Nigerians have no chill, they took to social media to bash him for dressing like that to see a traditional ruler. But, was there really anything wrong with his attire?
7. He decided to step out in military uniform
Last month, Governor Fayose stepped out for the event organized by Erelu Angela Adeniyi Adebayo orphanage dressed in military camo pant with matching hat.
Love him or hate him, Nigerians can’t seem to get enough of this governor who keeps them entertained in one way or the other.
