Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state resumed office at about 7.45am on Monday, November 14.
The newly sworn in governor and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, began project inspection in the state few hours after they resumed office.
Dressed in a French suit and red tie, Obaseki inspected the guard of honor and proceeded to his office, The Nation reports.
Report has it that the governor shunned visitors to avoid distraction and rather held tactical meetings with his new team.

Those who thronged government house to continue victory celebration were disappointed as ‘no loitering’ directive was issued out.
Obaseki had talks with the permanent secretaries in the state and cross checked handover notes with his deputy.
The head of service took him round the government house as he walked slowly listening attentively.
The new governor also visited the Benin Technical College to ascertain what things need to be put in place.
According to him, he has six weeks to run government with permanent secretaries to reorder governance with a view to reducing cost.
Obaseki was sworn into office on Saturday, November 12. His predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, handed over to him formally at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium where the oath of office was taken.
