Mark Cuban rips Peter Thiel's defense of Donald Trump: 'That's craziness'

Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban, a prominent backer of Hillary Clinton, said in a CNBC interview on Tuesday that Peter Thiel's pro-Donald Trump speech to the National Press Club on Monday "actually makes my point" about the Republican presidential nominee.
Thiel is Trump's most prominent Silicon Valley supporter. The tech billionaire, venture capitalist, and cofounder of PayPal said in his Monday speech that it was "not a lack of judgment" that was causing Americans to vote for and support Trump but that "we judge the leadership of our country to have failed."
Cuban, the owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks who is a star of ABC's "Shark Tank," ripped Thiel for not saying "a word about Trump's policies."
"And that's the point," he said, pointing out that in a question-and-answer session after the speech Thiel said the media and others needed to take Trump seriously but not literally for some of his statements.
"That's craziness," Cuban said. "That just reinforces that Trump doesn't know what his policies are. Peter Thiel doesn't believe in his policies."
Cuban also suggested that Thiel took everything said about Clinton, the Democratic nominee, "literally and seriously."
