If you open up a magazine or drive down a street, it's clear that plus-size women are rarely in high-fashion advertisements. In an industry where beauty standards seem so limited, we decided to break the mold and insert ourselves into the world of fashion. Here's how it went:

Kristin: Here I am, looking like Captain Ahab's favorite pinup girl. I don't think I realized how ridiculous this ad was until I tried to create it. Who hangs out in a coil of rope without pants unless your night is going very poorly? That said, if *I* could do this, then there's no reason why you can't stick a plus-size model into this ad.
I was actually shocked that the photo turned out as well as it did — I kept asking if it was photoshopped. I've heard so many times that my body isn't really capable of doing ~beautiful fashion things~ that seeing myself actually do it felt like a mistake. But this should tell you just how much of a difference it makes when you have good makeup, hair, lighting, and photography, and of course excellent rope.
