Sophie Hunter style file: as Benedict Cumberbatch confirms his wife's pregnancy, we chart the mother-to-be's sartorial rise
A 38-year-old theatre and opera director, Sophie Hunter has found herself propelled into the world of celebrity over recent years thanks to her relationship with British actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
Having married on February 14 last year, the pair welcomed son Christopher Carlton a few months later before announcing their second pregnancy this week.
A skilled pianist and fluent speaker of both French and Italian Hunter has many interests, and has more recently been showcasing a keen eye on style.
This piqued interest is no doubt due in part to the world's increased fascination with the couple, with Sophie now regularly photographed at a number of premieres and award ceremonies wearing high-end designers.
She has also been spotted front row at several of the fashion world's most hotly-anticipated events alongside the likes of Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss.
One highlight from her more recent wardrobe includes a billowing white Dior dress with an embellished metal lattice bodice.
A more recent hit was her magenta caped Valentino dress that she wore at the launch event for Benedict's new film Doctor Strange.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Hunter's stylist Drake said: "Sophie is very discerning and decisive about what she likes and does not like," and while bright colours and bold prints have become her staples, anything too "frilly, frou frou, or with too much surface decoration" won't work.
