Emir Sanusi comments on Katsina Emir marrying teenage girl
– Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, has reacted to the recent reports about the marriage of Abdulmumini Usman Dikko, the emir of Katsina
– “It was callous and uncharitable move to cause disaffection between the two royal families.”
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II of Kano has denied condemning his Katsina counterpart, Abdulmumini Usman Dikko, for the alleged abduction and forceful marriage of a 14-year-old girl Habiba Isiyaku.

Commeting on the controversial affair through Munir Sunusi Bayero, the Danburam of Kano, he described the story as baseless and unfounded.

According to Mr Bayero, the Emir doesn’t have Twitter or Facebook accounts, not to mention he wont’s use social media to discuss publicly an issue he has little knowledge about.
Mr. Bayero said: “His Highness has no social media handles and does not even know about the issue of any teenager in Katsina or anywhere. The matter is a creation of mischief-makers aimed at causing disaffection between the royal houses.
That was how they used the name of the Emir to say he was against government’s economic policies and to make false accusations against the government of President Buhari. So this is not the first time they are targeting the revered Emir with mischievous and unfounded speculations.”

Recall that the Nation earlier reported that 14-year-old Habiba Isiyaku Tanko was kidnapped from school, forcefully converted to Islam and married off by the Emir without her parents consent.
Abdulmumini Usman, the Emir of Katsina, has denied the accusations that he the teen girl to the man who kidnapped her from school.
