Cape woman arrested for plotting hit on hubby
A Cape Town woman is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court for allegedly trying to organise a hit on her husband.
|||Cape Town - A Cape Town woman is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for allegedly trying to organise a hit on her husband.
The 44-year-old woman from Kenilworth was nabbed in a sting operation on Tuesday after police became aware of her plan to have her husband taken out.
She was arrested shortly after handing over money to the would-be hitman.
According to police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk, police reacted swiftly to stop the woman in her tracks after they received a tip-off about her alleged scheme.
“A joint investigation was conducted by the Provincial Detective Unit and Manenberg Serious and Violent Crimes Investigation Unit,” he explained.
“The investigation culminated [yesterday] at approximately 10.10am when a sting operation was conducted in the parking area of Lansdowne Railway Station.”
Not knowing that her alleged murderous plans had been foiled, the woman handed an undisclosed amount of cash over to the would-be hitman.
But instead she got the shock of her life when she was handcuffed and arrested a short while later.
“The 44-year-old Kenilworth woman is to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder,” says Van Wyk.
