Eid-el-Kabir: Prices of rams skyrocket as Nigeria goes into recession

With less than 11 eleven days to the 2016 Ed-El-Kabir celebration, prices of various sizes of rams have gone up across Nigerian states such as Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan and other parts.
The economic situation of the country has also contributed to the increase in prices as well.
Newsmen revealed that this year’s prices are higher than what rams were sold for in 2015, with a small size ram now being sold for N30,000 – N40,000 as against N17,000 last year.

It was even discovered that apart from their high cost, rams were not even available in the most of the markets visited at Gwagwalada, Zuba, Mararaba, Nyayan, Lugbe, and Mpape.

In another development, the recession currently ravaging the Nigerian economy has affected ram sales. Many ram selling points which include Zango, Bachama road and Rigasa markets in Kaduna metropolis saw the presence of many rams that remain unsold for days.
