|||Johannesburg - A man in his 50s was left seriously injured Thursday afternoon after a shooting incident at a shopping centre in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, while a woman who witnessed the incident collapsed and died, ER24 paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the incident occurred on Samora Machel Road. “ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 12h00 after backup was requested by local authorities,” Meiring said.
He added that a man was found lying on the pavement, surrounded by a number of onlookers and local authorities. “Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained two gunshot wounds to his chest, leaving him in a critical condition.”
The man was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Rob Ferreira Hospital for urgent care.

However, the woman was declared dead. Local authorities were to conduct a full investigation into the matter.
