Scores injured in clash over woman in Lagos (details inside)
– A violent clash involving machetes and broken botles erupted in Oshodi, Lagos state
– It was sparked by a woman, a wife of the local NURTW leader, who blocked the road with her car
– The conflict which lasted for several hours was brought to an end by the armed policemen in the area
Scores were badly injuried during a fight between members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) in Oshodi, Lagos state, on Tuesday.

The clash was reportedly caused by the unnamed wife of Musiliu Akinsanya (a.k.a MC Olomo), Modinat an NURTW leader at Oshodi, who irresponsibly parked her car blocking the road.
According to the Nation sources, the enraged OPC member confronted the woman and even invited his colleagues armed with machetes and broken bottles to deal with the matter.
Mrs Akinsanya in her turn asked some NURTW members to stand up for her as her husband was out of the country. The lingering conflict left many injuried, while Akinsanya’s hotel in Oshodi was partially destroyed.

An aide to Mr Akinsanya commented on the incident: “She only parked by the road side to greet someone, leaving the way for other motorists but the OPC guy, who had had scores to settle with MC in the past came to harrass her. The guy seized the opportunity to vent his anger on MC wife.”
Policemen from Akinpelu and Makinde divisions and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) reportedly restored peace and order in Oshodi.
