TRIPOB which has broken out of the main group, said its decision to breakaway was taken at an emergency meeting convened by some disaffected members of IPOB.

4. NAF releases VIDEO of airstrikes that wounded Shekau

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has released another video showing one of its major successes in the on-going counter terrorism operations in the north east. The video was released after the Nigerian military claimed 300 Boko Haram terrorist were killed during an air strike on August 19.

5. Obasanjo reveals those who brought Buhari to power

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has denied media reports claiming he and a few Nigerians brought President Muhammadu Buhari to power. According to him, no individual or group including himself can lay claim to bringing to power. The former president made this known in Jalingo, Taraba state capital, on Tuesday, August 23, when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Darius Ishaku.

6. Convoy of Delta state governor, Okowa kills elderly man!

The convoy of Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has reportedly killed an elderly man in Umutu community in Ukwuani local government area of the south-south state. The unfortunate incident occurred late in the afternoon of Friday, August 19 just as the governor was returning from a meeting of the Niger Delta Coastal States that was organised Okowa and former information minister, Edwin Clark.

7. Buhari appoints new managing director of NERFUND (photo)

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr Ezekiel Oseni as the acting managing director of the National Economic Reconstruction Fund (NERFUND). The appointment has been approved and was contained in a letter signed by Mr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse who is the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Finance.
