EFCC is after Fayose’s aide again! See what it did (photos)

– The EFCC has arraigned Governor Ayodele Fayose’s trusted aide

– He was accused of conspiracy to launder money

– He pleaded not guilty but was detained in prison

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has continued to tighten the noose against Governor Ayodele Fayose as his aide, Abiodun Agbele was arraigned by the agency.

The anti-graft agency has continued to investigate the alleged misappropriation of the arms del perpetuated through the office of the former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki who has since been kept in detention.

The EFCC arraigned Agbele on Wednesday, August 3 before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja.

The EFCC accused Fayose’s aide of conspiracy to launder N4, 685, 723,000.00 alongside former minister of defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who has since fled to the US.

Sylvan Mcnamara Ltd, Lt. A.O Adewale, Tunde Oshinowo and Olalekan Ogunseye who have all fled the country where listed as co-conspirators.

Justince Dingba ordered that the accused persons be locked in prison and adjourned the case till Friday, August 5 when he would rule on whether the defendant deserves bail or not.

Meanwhile, Damola Otuyalo an official of a bank (name withheld) has given details to the EFCC on how he personally handed over N1.2bn to Obanikoro.

The former minister of defence has been in the US since President Muhammadu Buhari came into power and has been under the radar of the EFCC for financial crimes. There has been details reportedly captured on CCTV that revealed how Oabnikoro transferred money to Ekiti to fund the election campaign of Fayose who later emerged as governor.

Otuyalo, who is the head of cash-in-transit services, said he received a call from the head of operations and technology, Mr. Premier Oiwoh, to arrange N1.2bn and pay six beneficiaries. However, he was unable to pay the money and his director then instructed him to move the N1.2bn to the private wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on June 17.
