Just in – Budget padding: Jibrin moves against Dogara
The former chairman of the House of Representatives Appropriations committee Abdulmumin Jibrin is expected to file series of petitions against the speaker Yakubu Dogara.
Jibrin has alleged that Dogara alongside his three-man cabal illegally added over N40 billon to the 2016 budget for their personal gains.
Jibrin had in a tweet early Monday morning, August 1, said he will be going to four different agencies to file a petition against his principal.

“We will be at the ICPC 10am, DSS 12noon, EFCC 2pm and Police HQ 4pm. The law will surely catch up with the corrupt Speaker Dogara and others,” Jibrin tweeted.
However, as at 11.09 am NAIJ.com was at the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), Jibrin was yet to visit his first point of call.
A source close to Jibrin told NAIJ.com that the former chairman appropriation committee was still putting papers for the petitions together.
He said Jibrin and his team (lawyers) will head to the commission as soon as the papers were ready.
The cross fire between Jibrin started after he accused the speaker Yakubu Dogara of padding the 2016 budget.
Jibrin alleged that Dogara alongside his three-man cabal illegally added over N40 billon to the 2016 budget for their personal gains.
Jibrin’s allegations came two weeks ago after he was sacked as the chairman of the committee by the speaker.

Since his first allegation, Jibrin has continued with series of other allegations against members of the House of Representatives.
He has also said this revelations will continue everyday for a long time.
Meanwhile, Jibrin, has admitted that his revelations over the alleged padding of the 2016 budget were late.
Jibrin, while speaking on the controversial insertions into the 2016 budget, on a Channels Television weekly programme, ‘Sunday Politics’ said although this revelations were coming late, but as the chairman of the committee, he was made to believe that certain information were not to be disclosed.
