Breaking: Police arrests celestial pastor who chained 9-year-old son

– A runaway pastor Francis Taiwo, who chained his 9-year-old son has been arrested by the Nigerian police 

– The 9-year-old was said to have been rescued by some NSCDC officers on Friday, July 22

– The boy was seen chained in the premises of the church which is located at Ajibawo in Ado-Odo Ota division 2

The Nigerian police has arrested Francis Taiwo, the runaway pastor who chained his 9-year-old son, Korede for weeks in the premises of the church .

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Ogun state police command public relations Ooffficer, who confirmed the arrest said the suspect was arrested on Sunday, July 24,with the assistance of his church members, Premium Times reports.

Taiwo had been on the run since police and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) burst into his church on Friday, July 22,  to rescue the victim.

The victim’s stepmother had earlier been arrested by the police who said that the malnourished boy will be handed to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare for further rehabilitation.

The 9-year-old boy who was chained around his neck said he does not want to go back to his father. The shocking act of child abuse was done by the boy’s father, Francis Taiwo, who is also a pastor of the church.

While in the custody of the state yesterday, July 23, the boy finally spoke up and narrated how he was maltreated by his own people.
