Barcelona star Neymar has said that he wishes to score Brazil’s winning goal in the final of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and win their first gold medal.

Brazil are hungry for the only competition that have eluded them in their history as Neymar is already setting his eyes at the Maracana, venue of where the gold medal match will be played on August 20.
“I hope I can return to the Maracana and score the winning goal, help with a pass, or who knows… however it goes, we would be champions,” he said.
“We have a great opportunity to make history, to earn an unprecedented gold medal for Brazil.” he added.

The 24-year-old also recalled his experience at the London 2012 Olympic Games as he was a member of the squad that lost 1-2 to Mexico in the finals.
“Thank God, I’m an Olympic medalist,” he said.”We won silver at the last games, and hopefully this time we can win gold.”
In this time round, Neymar will be on home soil as Brazil they will have all of the advantages behind them for the quest of their first Olympic gold.
