– The Rivers state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made a weighty allegation against Senator Magnus Abe
– The party says the senator has been sighted severally at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abuja
– Senator Abe is yet to respond to the allegations
The Rivers state chapter of the PDP has accused Senator Magnus Abe of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of hobnobbing with INEC officials in Abuja.
Abe, a former senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District and APC candidate for the re-reun election in the district, has been a controversial figure in the state since the 2015 general elections.
According to a statement by the special adviser on media and publicity to the Rivers PDP chairman, Bro Felix Oduah, the frequent visits to INEC office by Abe is very suspicious.

”It’s surprising and shameful that Mr. Abe can hardly comport himself and allow the electoral officers to do their job expeditiously,” part of the statement noted.
The statement however stated that all that matters to the party is for the electoral body to do the right thing and ensure a smooth conduct of the re-run elections.
“Notwithstanding, we are keeping tap on every move by desperadoes and will never allow nor accept any act not in consonance with the principle of one man, one vote, to determine the final and overall outcome of the re-run elections across the State”, the statement warned.
The PDP’s allegation is coming barely one week after Senator Abe declared that he lacks confidence in Aniedi Ikiowak, the resident electoral commissioner (REC) for Rivers state.

Abe made this known while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, adding that Ikoiwak was a contractor to the Ministry of Education when Governor Nyesom Wike was the supervising minister under the Goodluck Jonathan government.
