– Nigerian singer Akiin Shuga attends music conference at Berklee Onsite, Boston

– Shuga was an alumnus of the music school and it afforded him another opportunity to mingle with his school mates

Nigerian singer and philanthropist Akiin Shuga attended the recently held Berklee Online’s annual music conference that took place June 10-11, 2016 in Boston.

Akiin Shuga is the lead singer of the Shuga band and he is also an alumnus of the Berklee School of Music, joined other music stakeholders and alumni of the school from all over the world at the Berklee Onsite 2016, for a three-day music conference packed with workshops, panels, and performances led by the faculty and industry professionals.

The conference afforded participants the opportunity of workshops, panels, performances, and networking with fellow online students and  alumni, Berklee faculty and staff, and music industry professionals.

Topics covered ranged from music performance to music business, with special guests including Berklee President Roger H. Brown, bass legend Victor Wooten, and Casey Rae of the Future of Music Coalition.

Speaking on his experience at the conference, Shuga said: “It was a fantastic experience, the enthusiasm and energy the attendees exhibited onsite was overwhelming.”

He further noted that he was privileged to learn new things and increase his network with lots of talented musicians and industry leaders from all over the world. The conference brought about ample networking opportunities, in addition to receiving musical instruction in areas such as production and songwriting. T

Shuga Limb Foundation (SLF), an NGO of Akiin Shuga who is also a disability advocate empowered people living with disabilities (PLDs) through its ‘Gifted and Talented’ Project on May, 30, 2016 at the Social Place, Sinari Daranijo, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He also seized the opportunity of the empowerment programme to recognize people who have selflessly supported PLDs, as well as disability advocates and rare talents like unbeatable music producer Cobhams Asuquo, Nigeria Info on-air-personality Adenike Oyetunde, Eng. Amusu, and others who have consistently used their voices to impact society at large.
