Mass sack: How our enemies are planning to sabotage Buhari’s govt – APC

APC claims enemies of the party are behind the mass retrenchment in the banking sector.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that the mass retrenchment in the banking and other sectors was orchestrated by “certain disgruntled persons to blackmail and discredit the APC government.

The national auditor of the party, Chief George Moghalu who made the allegation in a chat with Daily Sun at the party’s headquarters, on Thursday, June 9, said the enemies of the APC were behind the mass retrenchment in the banking sector.

He described the mass retrenchment by banks as deliberate plan blackmailers to create a situation of uncertainty and unnecessary frustration of the system.

He said:“Government has told them to stay action on the sack of staff or face the consequences. I don’t know why the banks should be sacking, we need to ask what has happened to the profit they have been amassing in the past.

“They ought to have been prepared for the rainy day. People cannot be manipulated to create the situation of uncertainty and unnecessary frustration for the system.

“As far as I am concerned, what is happening now is pure sabotage. Nigerians should still trust the APC government.

“I will be ready to engage the media after two years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.”

Meanwhile, following the ongoing mass retrenchment of workers in the Nigerian banking sector, the organised Labour has issued a 21 day ultimatum to the affected banks to recall the sacked workers or risked unprecedented industrial action.

According to Vanguard, the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Bobboi Kaigama, at a joint briefing in Geneva, on Thursday, June 9, vowed to cripple operations in the banking sector by picketing banks that indulge in further mass sack of their employees.
