Sun’s out bums out: Muscly men and women at Muscle Beach contest (photonews)
Muscly men and oiled up bikini-clad women are parading before the judges to show off their perfect bodies. Memorial Day Muscle Beach competition is currently taking place on Venice Beach in California, America.

The bodybuilding contest officially kicks off a muscle judging season. There were a number of categories that included Men’s Masters, Women’s Physique, Bikini and Vintage Swimsuit.
While male participants are expected to “display proper shape and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition”, female competitors should present “a toned, athlete physique showcasing femininity, muscle tone, beauty or flow of physique.”

The organisers of the event stressed that extreme muscularity is not what they are looking for, on overall physique and good ‘balance and shape’ is the answer.
By the way, the comepition is often attended by various celebrities — California Governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger used to be a regular among the many famous bodybuilders and actors who have trained there and still makes an occasional appearance.
