If Ratajkowski's mother had her own way, it was revealed in ES Magazine today, Emily would have been a brain surgeon.
Keen for her daughter to be recognised for more than just her aesthetic, Ratajkowski revealed her mother "didn’t like the idea that I would think that [my appearance] was the only thing that I was going to be valued for," but equally "She always told me never to feel sorry or apologetic or embarrassed by my body, to never apologise for my sexuality."
Nevertheless, she was signed at the age of 14 by Ford Models in LA and has since appeared in Love magazine, American Vogue and W, as well as having modelled for both Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs.
More recently hitting headlines thanks to her feminist stance on the topic of Kim Kardashian's now-famous nude selfie, Ratajkowski revealed that after tweeting her support for Kardashian and joining her for a topless selfie together, Kim "was kind enough to send me flowers".
But when she's not taking her clothes off with the world's most well-known reality star, Ratajkowski has a wardrobe most would envy.
Being good friends with Marc Jacobs - who describes the star as 'sexy in that I TOTALLY GET IT sexy way' - has no doubt helped, and as her fame and position in the world of film continues to rise we predict that her fashion profile will follow suit.
