The Buhari-led government has last week announced the removal of fuel subsidy and the hike in fuel price.
Aggrieved Nigerians launched on May 18, Wednesday, a nationwide protest against the recent decisions of the presidency.
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) threatened to go on strike if the government failed to reverse the price. They had a meeting with the federal government but failed to reach an agreement.

A faction of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) led by Ayuba Wabba embarked on an indefinite strike over the increase in fuel price and Nigerians are protesting in different states across the country.
The NLC defied court order which restrained it from going on with its planned strike.
