Warning: This recap for the “Absolution” and “Ascension” episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. contains spoilers. Considering this is Ward’s third consecutive season finale as a bad guy trying to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. and there are probably plenty of people sick of his face, his fate is surprisingly moving. The “Fallen Agent” promised by the commercials isn’t a big surprise; Lincoln sacrifices himself to save the world from falling under the control of Hive. The Plot Daisy is quarantined as the team tries to stop Hive from taking over a missile silo and dispersing the Inhuman toxin.
