Energy talks set for Midrand
SA’s Department of Trade and Industry and the SA Electrotechnical Export Council will host the Africa Energy Inward Buying Mission in Midrand this week.
|||Johannesburg - South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry (dti), together with the South African Electrotechnical Export Council (SAEEC), will host the Africa Energy Inward Buying Mission in Midrand from Monday this week.
“The mission intends to profile 47 companies, including 20 emerging exporters, at the 2016 African Utility Week,” the dti said in a statement.
The objective of the event would be to expose key decision-makers from the various power utilities to the manufacturing and engineering service competencies of South African companies.
Representatives of power utilities from Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan and Nigeria would participate in the mission.
“With investment in the power infrastructure roll-out for Africa estimated at between $20 billion and $42 billion a year over the next 10 years, it is critical that South African companies are well positioned to participate in the significant opportunities as they unfold,” the dti said.
