Roberto Martinez who was appointed as the Everton manager on June 5, 2013, has been sacked with immediate effect.
The decision was reached after the Toffees managed to pick up only four points in the Premier League since March 5.

Their 3-0 loss to Sunderland on Wednesday, May 11, stretched their dismal run of form to just one win in 10 matches in all competitions.
A banner with the inscription “Martinez out” was visible at the Stadium of Light in their recent games, including when some fans held a protest against the Spaniard following the 2-1 victory over Bournemouth on April 30.
Another form of chant against the manager was scheduled for Thursday, May 12, outside St George’s Hall, venue for the club’s end-of-season awards dinner.
However, it is unlikely for the protest to go on, following the dismissal of the manager.
Martinez had vowed to bring the “winning feeling back” to Everton following their defeat to Sunderland, their fourth loss in their last five matches, but he will not have the chance to do so against Norwich City on Sunday, May 15.

Everton are currently placed 12th on the EPL standings with one game left and are now sure of finishing in the bottom half for a second consecutive season.
