Azealia Banks explains her rant in which she called Zayn Malik a "curry scented b***h", but the damage has been done.
|||Azealia Banks has been dropped from a UK festival after her racist tirade against Zayn Malik.
The controversial rapper will no longer headline London's Rinse Born & Bred in June after organisers were horrified by her racist and homophobic rant, which she launched after accusing Zayn of copying her in his latest video 'Like I Would'.
A statement from the festival said: "We have decided to cancel Azealia Banks' headline appearance at Rinse Born & Bred. Rinse Born & Bred is a celebration of rave culture and has been created for EVERYONE. We celebrate inclusivity and equality."
Azealia, 24, had also hit out at the London grime and rap scene, tweeting: "The UK really can't rap though. UK RAP is just a disgrace to rap culture in general. UK rappers NEVER have swag. It's ALWAYS FORCED (sic)."
But it was her vile tweets to Zayn which horrified people, after she branded him a "curry scented b***h" in an expletive-laden xenophobic tirade against the British-born singer, 23,
She wrote: "@zaynmalik dude, I make better music than you. Simmer down with that fake white boy rebellion and that wannabe Bieber swag. Lol u a b**tch n***a for even responding like that (sic)."
Azealia then erupted with a string of vile racist comments and took aim at Zayn and his girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid, comparing her to a Disney princess and using a derogatory remark to identify his Asian heritage.
She said: "Keeping sucking this young rapunxel d**k u hairy curry scented b**ch.
"Imma start calling you punjab you dirty b***h. You a d**k rider for real. Ride this d**k until the wheels fall off Punjab (sic)."
And she didn't stop there; attacking his boy band past, the outspoken rapper said Zayn's One Direction bandmates, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, who are all white, used him as a "pet".
She said: "You were the token brown boy. All those white boys in 1D disrespected you and made you their PET. You were only apart of 1D to draw brown attention. You are and ALWAYS will be a TOKEN to the UK.(sic)"
Azealia then retweeted posts Zayn had written including a black and white selfie and wrote alongside it: "I eat sand for breakfast and suck d**k for dinner.(sic)"
On Wednesday evening, she posted a statement explaining her rant:
