Popular Nigerian artist Raoul Njeng-Njeng a.k.a Skales, recently performed at Fashion for Charity’s Charity Drive Drop Off Concert.
The charity supported and raised materials for people in the IDP Camps (Internally Displaced Persons Camps). The concert featured Skales, and Abuja-based music artists, fashion designers, dancers and comedians.
In an exclusive interview with Naij.com, Skales talked on his first time visiting and being involved with an IDP camp.
The concert was a good turnout, big shout out to everyone that came out yesterday and donated. Big shout out to you guys and thank you for being open-hearted. I am to visit the camp today to donate all the items we received.
When asked how he feels about helping single mother and widows, the artist (being raised by a single mother) responded:
It wasn’t really a very smooth journey so I know what it is to be raised by a single parent; it’s like the person is both the mother and father for the kid and family so it’s good to be able to support once in a while.
Over the Wizkid vs Linda Ikeji clash, he said:
I’m with nobody. I do not know what happened because I have been busy working and recording but I heard they were going back and forth but they will be fine.
On the rest of 2016, he said:
I’m working on my sophomore album and I would say I am already on tour because I just got back from America a couple of days ago and I’m going to Russia next week to perform at the African Music Festival. There’s a lot planned for this year.
