Report credited to Daily Post has it that, Mighty Jets defender John George has passed on this afternoon, Thursday, April 21, in Kaduna state.
According to the report, the player, on loan to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Lobi Stars died after a brief illness.
This was contained in a statement made available to the media outfit by the management of Might Jets FC of Jos.

In a press statement signed by Mbum Ferdinand, the club’s media officer, the management described George as a hard-working and committed professional who was always respectful to officials and his colleagues.
The statement reads: “Until John’s demise, he was on loan at Nigeria the Professional Football League side, Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi and was a regular member of the first team.
“His last game was a 2-2 home draw between Lobi Stars and Kano Pillars last month and he had obtained permission from the club to return to Kaduna to treat a recurring bout of malaria, a trip he never returned from.
”However, before joining Mighty Jets FC, he had played for Plateau United FC.
“Management of Might Jets FC would discus with Lobi Stars and the player’s family on the plans and arrangements as regards his burial.
”The entire management pray that God would grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss and also pray for the repose of his soul.”

Meanwhile, Mighty Jets Football Club of Jos has announced the signing of former Golden Eaglets midfielder, Nura Nakargo and nine other players to boost their chances of getting promotion to the NPFL.
This comes ahead of the forthcoming Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
