Mark Noble remains a great ambassador for West Ham as he approaches his testimonial at Upton Park on Monday, according to team-mate Adrian.
Noble will celebrate 12 years at the club in front of a packed ground and against a cast of greats from his time at West Ham and beyond.
But once the celebrations are over there will be plenty for Noble and company to focus on in the closing weeks of the season. West Ham lie fifth in the Premier League, a point off the Champions League, and remain in contention for FA Cup glory.
And Adrian believes there could be no better man to lead West Ham into their final weeks at the Boleyn Ground than the local boy who went on to become club captain.
“It’s an amazing achievement for Mark that he has spent many, many years at this one club,” he told the club website.
“He’s a great captain for us and a great leader in the dressing room. He’s an amazing person off the pitch, too.
“Mark has a great impact on all the younger players. Of him, they see the number one West Ham player because he has done it all before.”
The 35-man squad selected to take on West Ham’s current side includes a string of Hammers greats, with Paolo Di Canio, Rio Ferdinand, Teddy Sheringham and Michael Carrick all set to feature.
