In 2011, promising Nigerian comedian and entertainer CD John passed away after a tragic car accident in Lagos. He was on his way back from Tribeca, Victoria Island where he had anchored singer Harrysong’s album listening party.
Having sustained life-threatening inuries, he was confirmed dead at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos afterwards.

HarrySong eulogizes late comedian CD John five years after his death
Born John Chijioke, the late comedian started off as a singer and later digressed into stand-up comedy owing to demands for his creativity and style of presentation on stage.
Five years after his untimely demise, Five Star music star Harrysong has spoken on what life has been like without his friend and companion CD John.
In a recent chat with The NET, the Reggae Blues singer stated that he still misses the comedian for many reasons especially for his great personality.
He said: “Words will fail me to start from the beginning. CD John was my best friend and even in spirit, till now, I miss him. He was a super talented comedian and he was blessed with a great personality.
“His death has motivated me to work harder and stay closer to God, and I know he’s proud of me. CD my nigga, Love forever G.”
